The above is one of the spots from the poster I previously posted.  Out of all the books I have, I probably have more cookbooks than anything else.  I pick them up for cents on the dollar at garage sales or borrow them from the library, but rarely do I pay full price for one.  I don`t suppose the author or publisher of cookbooks likes to hear that, but I`m sort of a second-hand kinda gal.  Anyway, I love to browse through cookbooks.  Most of my browsing is done not when I`m looking for a recipe to cook, but when I`m going to bed and need something relaxing to read.  Anything but a cookbook just seems to weighty or is asking too much of me at that time, but reading through recipes, etc., does the trick.  Of course, it can also wet my appetite, which isn`t the best thing to do before going to sleep.

Funny. As much as I hate to cook, I love cookbooks. Cookbooks and Food TV. And Mr Jazz does 90% of the cooking since I can’t be bothered. And such is the paradox of Jazz.

I’m with you….cookbooks are great fun! Somehow a seeming comfort of sorts!? Reading thro the recipes, building images of the flavors/aromas/visuals of the finished product! And yes, one’s appetite can soar when delighting in this particular past time…watch that bedtime reading!!
I collect all sorts of cookbooks as well, even in Spanish, French, Italian…and I don’t speak a bit of the last two!! (but it’s simple to figure it out!) I just love the European photography…just as tasty as the recipes!
Question- Just what is inside that boy’s monstrous pie?? I’d love to imagine it piled high with cherries or blueberries!! Yummy!

Jazz: Here, here! Though I do like to cook, too.

Debbie: How funny that you collect cookbooks of languages you don’t speak! That is something I don’t do. As for the type of pie, I was thinking it was apple, but obviously it can be whatever the observer desires it to be!
