What a sweet happy beaver! Is he a Canadian mascot or official animal? Happy Canada Day–I guess that’s like our 4th of July (Independence Day) except we don’t say Happy U.S. Day.
Jana: The beaver is the national animal of Canada, yuppers. And, yes, Canada Day is like the U. S.’s Independence Day, but Canada didn’t gain independence as the U.S. did. It’s the official day commemorating the birth of the Dominion of Canada. We do say, “Happy Fourth of July!”, or “Happy Fourth”. At least I’ve said or heard that on occasion. I’ll miss it in the States, but I can catch it on the TV. Good questions, Jana B.! Thanks! And a Happy Fourth of July to you!
Thank you, Joan, Loni and cata!
WillieB: Heh! Funny way of putting it!
Thanks, emma, LMN, and Tina!
TerryB. You’re most kind. I try to be entertaining if I can. Good to know you appreciate it! Much thanks for the comment. : )
Oh Canada, our home and Native land, true patriot love in all our sons command, with glowing hearts we see thee rise, the true north strong and free,
From Far and Wide O Canada,
We stand on guard for thee,
God keep our land glorious and free
Oh Canada we stand on guard for thee,
