Hazy Days of Summer

The sketch, below:

The above is a case where anything can become a story, I guess. It’s just a quickly done cartoon version of my yesterday evening. And, yes, I was wearing hot pink shorts. They are too comfortable to be worried about how they look. And I have no idea how to draw a hazy horizon, but I tried to capture the moment.

True, anything can be a story. Most often we just pass the stories up though.

Love the little slice of life. I think you’ve got the spirit of the hazy summer sunset. I love the colors.

I really love this. When I go out to do things, I rarely ever think to capture the moment in a sketch. I really should do that more. Do you watercolor your sketchbook when you get home, or do you bring them along?

Jazz: I was really reaching here. I’m sure I could make it more interesting, but at the time, I’m also trying to not spend a lot of time on these so something’s gotta give. Perhaps with time, I will be able to do both!

Heather: Thanks! I tried. Even a few photos I took didn’t capture it!

Ryan: You should! It’s a habit I fall in and out of. Heavily influenced here by Danny Gregory & Everyday Matters. As for adding color, I generally do that once I get home, adding color digitally. It gives me a chance to stretch the sketch a bit, enhancing it with color, etc.
