Cafe Marmelade is a little hole-in-the-wall bakery/cafe/something in the Pointe Claire Village that serves up vegetarian sandwiches on homemade breads, soups, cinnamon rolls, scones, muffins, and the like. Their seasonal special right now is a bumbleberry pie made with a spelt crust. Sure looked good! I go in there on occasion to check out their day-old products. Always the bargain hunter, that I am.
Proportions are off here and there (my drawing, not the food), and I over-sized the signage. Decided not to fix it, though and just let it be. I did, however, leave out the empty recycling containers that were on the sidewalk. Somebody had to clean that mess up, might as well be me. : ) Also played with color and worked off a blue-ish background. (Micron black ink pen on paper; colorized in Painter 9.)
Late evening sketch in Centennial Park, Beaconsfield. One of the many picnic tables to sit at and enjoy the lovely view. And it IS lovely. The water was very calm so sailboats weren’t in sight. While sketching, a little girl was trying to get the ducks’ attention, hence the “Here, ducky-ducky-ducky!” (graphite on paper; colorized in Painter 9.)
