I noticed that the herbs were on sale at the little greenhouse around the corner so bought a few to put in a little planter pot on the balcony. I did a quicky sketch to check out my dual-monitor set up. The previous second monitor died a few weeks ago so Paul located a deal on a used ViewSonic. After he got it up and running, I’m having to make some adjustments to the the Walcom. In doing the sketch, I had trouble controlling the pen strokes. I’m not sure whether it’s an adjustment I need, or that I simply just need to get used to the slight change.

As for life in general, I took a break from the computer for a few days to enjoy a beautiful weekend with clear skies and ideal temperatures (Finally! After a wet and cool week). I was very industrious this weekend. I got into a purging mentality Saturday night and threw out half the clothes in my closet and chests (clothes that are too small, but I just didn’t want to part with). I was amazingly brutal and only let a few things stay for ‘sentimental reasons’. A new clothing deposit dumpster-thingy was put out at the market around the corner and I took three huge loads and tossed them in. And I tossed another few bags this morning. Too much trouble to prepare and host my own garage sale so I just bid the stuff farewell.
I also went garage sale-ing Saturday morning with a friend of mine and her new-born. She made a big splurge purchase for a double stroller (she’s building her nest), while I came home with another load of ‘needs’: two rugs (the big one replaced a sad carpet in our living room–< I love it!>, the runner is in the kitchen), Wiltshire Stay-Sharp knive set (and they’re great! They’re really sharp!), 6 white dinner plates (I then tossed the plates we have that are chipped), two boardgames (one is a gift for a friend), a salad bowl (needed one to take to an event Sunday), three blank notebooks (for recipes I’ve clipped from magazines), a board that folds out (to use for sketching outside), and a couple of children’s books (I’m collecting random books that look interesting). I’m doing well with the ‘something in–something out’ plan.
I took Sunday morning off and cleaned the balcony window. I was amazed at how much brighter the room became after that. I keep walking in the living room just to enjoy the outdoor scene. I also baked a cake and put a salad together for a Father’s Day dinner at my BIL & SIL’s house. We had a nice evening of grilled hamburgers and hotdogs.
Today work started out slow but now I’m ready to crash so hopefully I’ll get a restful night’s sleep. The last night or two I’ve been having odd dreams where I’m in one confrontational situation after another. Weird and exhausting.
Really, I’m too tired to make this a more interesting post.
Great loose energetic illustration.
Wally: Well, that was truly a quick ‘n dirty drawing (Devil may care! Don’t even think about it!).
Thanks for coming by and leaving a note. : )
Purple Heart collects old clothes from your house and gives them to the poor.
I love your new site design!
Paige: Oh, that’s handy! I don’t think there’s a Purple Heart hear, but the drop box is just a minute or two walk so easy enough. It felt good to lighten my load and I don’t miss the excess one bit.
And merci on the sight! Still working on it (slllooowwwwwlllyyyy…)
